No One Will Be Alone in Paradise

No One Will Be Alone in Paradise

In our history, there is a beautiful and significant name: Abdullah bin Zaid (RA). He never married throughout his life. His youth passed, old age came, and one day, while he was reading a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he came across these words:

"In Paradise, no one will be alone. Whoever did not marry in this world, either because they didn’t reach the age of marriage or for some other reason, but died as a believer, Allah will arrange their marriage in Paradise."

After reading this, Abdullah bin Zaid (RA) wondered, "I haven’t married in this world, so it will surely happen in Paradise. But who will my wife be?" He prayed, "O Allah, show me who my wife will be in Paradise."

The first night, his prayer wasn’t answered. The second night, it wasn’t answered either. But on the third night, he had a dream. In the dream, he saw a dark-skinned woman from Abyssinia (Habasha). She introduced herself, saying, "I am Maimuna bint Waleed, and I live in Busra."

When he woke up, it was time for Tahajjud (night prayer). He performed the prayers and, after Fajr, set out for Busra. When he arrived, the people welcomed him warmly because of his great reputation. He asked, "Tell me, is there anyone here named Maimuna bint Waleed?"

The people were surprised and asked, "Why have you come all this way to meet her?" He replied, "Why can’t I meet her?" They said, "She’s known to be strange. People throw stones at her because she behaves oddly—she laughs when people cry and cries when people laugh. She also tends to graze goats for others for a small wage. Today, she’s in the jungle with the goats. You can rest, and she’ll return by Asr."

Abdullah bin Zaid (RA) asked, "Which direction did she go?" Despite warnings about the dangerous jungle, he insisted and went to find her.

When he reached the jungle, he saw a surprising sight. Maimuna bint Waleed was not grazing the goats. Instead, she was praying on a mat. The goats were grazing, but they were being protected and managed by lions. If a goat strayed, the lion would gently bring it back without harming it.

He was astonished by this scene. While he stood in amazement, Maimuna finished her prayer, looked at him, and said, "Abdullah, our meeting was supposed to be in Paradise. Why have you come here?"

Abdullah (RA) was shocked and asked, "How do you know my name? We’ve never met before."

Maimuna replied, "The same Allah who told you about me has also informed me about you."

Abdullah then asked her, "How is it possible that lions are peacefully protecting goats? This goes against their nature."

She replied, "Ever since I made peace with my Lord, these lions have made peace with my goats."
