Key Principles for Living a Good Life

Key Principles for Living a Good Life 1. Don't Rely on Others: Never depend completely on someone else. 2. No One Stays Forever: People come and go; no one stays with you forever. 3. Friends Can Become Enemies: Today's friend might become tomorrow's foe. 4. Keep Your Secrets Safe: Your secrets are like bullets. If you share them with others, one day they might use them against you. 5. Trust Only Three Things: Your wallet, your health, and above all, your God. These will never disappoint you. 6. Hide Your Needs and Desires: Don't share your plans and wishes with others. 7. Not Everyone Who Smiles Loves You: A smile doesn't always mean affection. 8. Words Can Be Deceptive: Just because someone calls you "dear," "friend," or "beloved" doesn’t mean they truly care for you. (Even TV hosts call their viewers "dear" without knowing or loving them.) 9. Take Care of Yourself: Rely on your own mind and heart for happiness, and you’ll a...

Allah Listens to Silent Prayers

Allah Listens to Silent Prayers Allah hears everything—silent prayers of the heart, silent tears, and quiet sighs. Worship done in the stillness of the night, calling out to Allah in pain and distress, and tears shed in moments of deep anguish all reach His throne. If a person calls upon Allah repeatedly, how can it be that there is no answer? Allah’s response comes instantly, but it is humans who are impatient and hasty. It is impossible for Allah to not answer when you call upon Him. Every prayer, plea, and sigh is heard at its appointed time. Those prayers that are not accepted in this world are saved for the Hereafter. So, be patient—every wish will be fulfilled. No tear is wasted, but everything happens at the right time. Hold on to patience, for every prayer will eventually receive the command "Be," and it will be done.

Allah's Mercy and Power: A Message of Hope

Allah's Mercy and Power: A Message of Hope He says, “Remember Me, and I will remember you.” He further says, “Call upon Me; surely, I am the One who listens to the call of the distressed.” Listen! He never lets your tears go to waste. In return for those tears and sighs, He will bless your life with joy and abundance. While you talk about patience here, He is arranging rewards for you there. While you cry over your restlessness here, He turns that very restlessness into a source of comfort for you. Even the people who dishearten you and drive you towards Him—He will make them witnesses to the countless blessings and love He bestows upon you. When you seek guidance, He counts you among the righteous because not every heart longs for Him—only the hearts He chooses for Himself. He becomes immensely pleased to see you confiding in Him, coming to Him with the certainty that He alone has the power to turn your sorrows into comfort. And this is the true test of your faith—remaining steadf...

Los Angeles and Angel Jibreel (AS)

Los Angeles and Angel Jibreel (AS) Allah Almighty has made this earth a home for all humans. The children of Prophet Adam (AS) and Hawwa (AS) now number around eight billion worldwide. The city of Los Angeles in the United States has a population of over 3.8 million. Currently, this city is facing a massive wildfire.  A few days before the fire began, a Hollywood event took place where people credited their success to others, but no one thanked God. It was then declared that Los Angeles is a "godless city," and people celebrated this idea. However, two days later, the wildfire engulfed the city. People were forced to flee, leaving behind their luxurious homes and cars to save their lives. The name Los Angeles means "City of Angels" and is believed to refer to Angel Jibreel (AS). Angel Jibreel is the messenger of Allah who brought divine revelations to the prophets. The Quran describes him as "one with great power" and "of high rank." All prophet...

The Inner Universe and the Light of Hope

The Inner Universe and the Light of Hope No matter how deep the darkness, never lose hope, for as long as hope remains, light will eventually break through. The moon shining in the dark night sends you a message: one who is held by Allah is never truly alone, even in the blackest of nights. Allah leads them to the bright morning, giving light to the night of their life. Your duty is to hold firmly to His rope, stay steadfast, and act upon His guidance. The morning you long for will surely come, and you will find yourself bathed in the light of nearness to your Lord. When the soul resided with Allah, it was engrossed in His vision. But when Allah sent this spiritual being to the world to test its recognition of Him, He placed the veil of nafs (self) between His divine light and the human being. The test of humanity lies in breaking through the barriers of worldly desires and freeing oneself from the snares of the nafs to attain recognition and vision of Allah. The divine light of A...

Find Peace in Turning to Your Allah

Find Peace in Turning to Your Allah Listen! When you feel exhausted by this temporary world, when restlessness and unease become a part of your life despite all your efforts, turn to your Lord. Go to His door and share your entire story with the One who hears everything. The tears for which you seek others' shoulders, shed them before your Lord. There, no one will mock you, nor will anyone taunt you, saying, "How can a man cry?" Instead, He will embrace you, take you into His care, just as you forget all your pain and worries when you rest your head in your mother's lap. Similarly, by prostrating before Him, you will find relief from all your troubles. If you make a mistake or commit a sin, ask for His forgiveness. Thank Him in prostration for the countless blessings and favors with which He has adorned your life. Pray to Him for the problems you see no solution to. Seek guidance from the Almighty to keep you on the straight path, for He is the best guide. As Allah sa...

The Story of the People of Prophet Lut (AS) – A Warning for Humanity

The Story of the People of Prophet Lut (AS) – A Warning for Humanity The most shameless nation in history was the people of Prophet Lut (AS). They abandoned women and were interested in men, especially young male travelers. According to the Talmud, the people of Sodom were cruel, deceitful, and unjust in their daily lives. No traveler could pass through their area safely, and no poor person could get even a piece of bread from them. Often, strangers would die of hunger in their land, and these people would strip their clothes and bury their bodies naked. They had turned their valley into a massive garden where they openly committed indecent acts without shame. Prophet Lut (AS) was sent to guide them. He called them towards the worship of Allah and urged them to repent from their immoral actions. He said, "Why do you commit such shameful acts? Why do you leave women and turn to men for pleasure? Indeed, you are a foolish people." Prophet Lut (AS) preached to them day and nigh...

The Story of Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi (RA) – A Lesson in Faith and Devotion Once, Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi (RA) suffered from an eye infection. A fire-worshiping doctor advised him not to let water touch his eyes. However, Hazrat Junaid (RA) replied, "Performing ablution (wudu) is necessary for me." After the doctor left, he performed ablution and offered the Isha prayer before going to sleep. By morning, his eye pain was completely gone. A divine voice proclaimed, "Since you did not neglect your worship for the sake of your eyes, we have removed your pain." Hearing this, the doctor said,"Indeed, I was the real patient, and you were the true healer." He then embraced Islam. It is narrated that someone once saw Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi (RA) in a dream with the Holy Prophet (PBUH). In the dream, a man presented a religious ques...

The Eyes of Love See True Beauty

The Eyes of Love See True Beauty This story is taken from the famous book Masnavi by Maulana Rumi. One day, the king of the time was traveling with his courtiers when one of them pointed out, “Your Majesty, the woman who just passed by is Layla.” The king, curious, asked, “Who is Layla?” The courtier replied, “Your Majesty, Layla is the woman for whom a man has lost his senses and roams the world as if mad. People call him Majnun.” Intrigued, the king ordered, “Bring Layla before me! I want to see the woman who has driven a man to madness.” Layla was brought to the court. The king looked at her and saw an ordinary-looking, dark-skinned woman—far from the extraordinary beauty he had expected. Disappointed, the king said, “O Layla, I see nothing special about you. Why would Majnun lose himself over you?” Layla smiled and replied, “O King, if you are not Majnun, how can you know who Layla truly is? To see my beauty, you must look through the eyes of Majnun. Only then will you see me as th...

The True Path to Meeting God

The True Path to Meeting God An ascetic devoted himself to a 40-day retreat, longing for a vision of God. During the day, he fasted; at night, he stood in worship. Isolated from the world, he spent his time in prayer and supplication. On the 36th night, a voice called out: “Go to the copper market this evening and visit the shop of a certain coppersmith. There, you will find your answer.” The ascetic eagerly went to the market and searched for the shop. As he wandered through the streets, he noticed an old woman holding a copper pot, offering it to every coppersmith she passed. She wanted to sell the pot for 6 dinars, but every coppersmith weighed it and offered no more than 4 dinars. Undeterred, the woman continued until she approached a particular coppersmith, who was busy with his work. The old woman said, “I wish to sell this pot for 6 dinars. Will you buy it?” The coppersmith asked, “Why only 6 dinars?” The woman explained, “My son is sick, and the healer has prescribed medicine t...

The Wisdom of Hazrat Bayazid Bastami (رحمتہ اللّٰه علیہ): A Lesson in Humility

The Wisdom of Hazrat Bayazid Bastami (رحمتہ اللّٰه علیہ): A Lesson in Humility It is said that a Qazi (judge) once came to Hazrat Bayazid Bastami (رحمتہ اللّٰه علیہ) and said:"We have more knowledge than you. But why is it that our words lack the same impact as your blessed sayings?" Hazrat Bayazid Bastami (رحمتہ اللّٰه علیہ) replied:"Hang a vessel filled with walnuts around your neck and walk through the market, announcing, 'Whoever slaps me, I will give them these walnuts.' Go around every street and alley of the city like this. Then, your words will gain impact (meaning that until you destroy your ego completely, you cannot achieve this rank)." The Qazi responded:"Astaghfirullah (I seek forgiveness from Allah)." Hazrat Bayazid Bastami (رحمتہ اللّٰه علیہ) replied:"This is your second mistake. I am telling you something that will eliminate the arrogance of your ego, and you are seeking forgiveness for it!" (Reference: Tafsir Ruh al-Bayan...

Importance of Moderation in Eating According to Islam

Importance of Moderation in Eating According to Islam A person should avoid overeating and exceeding their hunger, as this is disliked by Allah and is not appreciated by people. Moreover, it is harmful to the body. When a physician was asked if the Qur'an contains any reference to medicine, he replied that Allah has summed up the essence of medicine in this single verse: "Eat and drink, but do not exceed limits; indeed, He does not like those who exceed the limits." (Surah Al-A’raf 7:31) The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "The son of Adam does not fill a vessel worse than his stomach. A few morsels are sufficient for him to keep his back straight. If he must eat more, then let him fill one-third of his stomach with food, one-third with drink, and leave one-third for breathing." Five Harms of Overeating: 1. It removes the fear of Allah from the heart. 2. Worship becomes burdensome. 3. The heart does not soften even upon hearing wise counsel. 4. A person's words ...

He always waited for a guest to join him for a meal. One time, an entire week passed without any guest visiting his home. Prophet Ibrahim (AS) even went out several times searching for a traveler or someone he could invite to share his meal. This week-long wait made him weak from hunger. Finally, after a week, he found an old, sick, and weak man who was starving. Prophet Ibrahim (AS) invited him to his home for a meal, and the man gladly accepted. At home, Prophet Ibrahim (AS) treated the guest with great respect, seated him at the dining table, and placed food before him. The Story of Prophet Noah (AS) and the Elderly Believer: A Lesson in Love and Divine Mercy

The Story of Prophet Noah (AS) and the Elderly Believer: A Lesson in Love and Divine Mercy Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (AS) narrated: When Prophet Noah (AS) was building the Ark, an elderly believing woman would visit him daily, carrying her bundle, and ask, "O Prophet of Allah, when will the Ark set sail?" Prophet Noah (AS) would reply, "It will take time." The woman would sit there until evening and then leave. One day, Prophet Noah (AS) said to her, "O woman, when the time comes, you will be informed." The woman returned and waited for the call. Meanwhile, the flood arrived, and the Ark sailed, but Prophet Noah (AS) forgot to call her (as if he was made to forget her by Allah’s will). After the flood subsided, one day, Prophet Noah (AS) felt a desire to visit the city from where he had set out. Upon reaching there, he noticed a hut with a lit lamp inside. Surprised, he wondered how any house could survive the great flood. He called out, proclaiming Allah’s gr...

The Power of Remembrance of Allah

The Power of Remembrance of Allah In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. It is said that a Sufi devoted himself to the remembrance (zhikr) of Allah with great passion and consistency. He continued this practice so fervently that his lips became sweet from the constant repetition of Allah’s name. One day, Satan whispered to him, "Why do you keep remembering Allah so much? You have never heard a response from Him. Your love is one-sided, and this silence is proof that your remembrance is not accepted by Allah." This evil thought disheartened the Sufi, and he stopped zhikr. Brokenhearted and sorrowful, he went to sleep. Though his eyes closed, his destiny awakened. In his dream, he saw Hazrat Khizar (AS), who asked him, "Why have you stopped remembering Allah? Why have you become disheartened by this beautiful act?" The Sufi replied, "I stopped because I never received a response from Allah despite my efforts. This made me think my remembranc...

No One Will Be Alone in Paradise

No One Will Be Alone in Paradise In our history, there is a beautiful and significant name: Abdullah bin Zaid (RA). He never married throughout his life. His youth passed, old age came, and one day, while he was reading a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he came across these words: "In Paradise, no one will be alone. Whoever did not marry in this world, either because they didn’t reach the age of marriage or for some other reason, but died as a believer, Allah will arrange their marriage in Paradise." After reading this, Abdullah bin Zaid (RA) wondered, "I haven’t married in this world, so it will surely happen in Paradise. But who will my wife be?" He prayed, "O Allah, show me who my wife will be in Paradise." The first night, his prayer wasn’t answered. The second night, it wasn’t answered either. But on the third night, he had a dream. In the dream, he saw a dark-skinned woman from Abyssinia (Habasha). She introduced herself, saying, "I am M...

The Story of Hazrat Sari Saqati (RA) and the Drunkard

Hazrat Sari Saqati (RA) sat down beside him, cleaned his mouth with water, and remarked, “This unaware man does not know whose pure name he is uttering with this impure mouth.” After cleaning his mouth, Hazrat Sari Saqati (RA) left the place. When the drunkard regained consciousness, people informed him, “While you were unconscious, Hazrat Sari Saqati (RA) came here, cleaned your mouth, and left.” Hearing this, the drunkard felt ashamed and deeply regretful. He began to weep and addressed his own soul: “Shameless one! Now even Hazrat Sari Saqati (RA) has seen you in this state. Fear Allah Almighty and repent for your future.” That night, Hazrat Sari Saqati (RA) had a dream in which he heard someone say, “O Sari! You cleaned the drunkard’s mouth for Our sake; We have cleansed his heart for your sake.” Whe...

The City of Souls: A Mysterious Encounter with the Past

The City of Souls: A Mysterious Encounter with the Past Abu Ayyub Al-Yamani narrated from a man named Abdullah from his tribe. Abdullah said: "I, along with some men from our community, embarked on a sea journey. During the journey, darkness enveloped us for several days. When the darkness finally lifted, we found ourselves near a settlement. I stepped out of the boat in search of water and went toward the settlement. I noticed that the doors of the houses were closed, and a strange wind was blowing inside them. I called out, but no one responded. Suddenly, I saw two riders approaching, mounted on white steeds. They asked me about my situation, and I told them about the darkness we faced at sea and that I had come out in search of water. They said, 'O Abdullah, proceed through this alley. At the end of it, you will find a well with water. Draw water from there, but do not be alarmed by what you might see near the well.' I then asked them about the houses with closed doors...

The Story of Nasuh's Sincere Repentance

The Story of Nasuh's Sincere Repentance Nasuh was a man with feminine features—soft voice, no beard, and delicate appearance. Using his outward appearance to his advantage, he worked in women’s bathhouses, massaging women and cleaning their bodies. Everyone assumed he was a woman, unaware of his true identity. This work not only served as his livelihood but also allowed him to indulge in sinful desires. Though he often felt guilty and repented, he repeatedly broke his promises to change. One day, the king’s daughter visited the bathhouse. After her bath and massage, she discovered that her precious jewel (a pearl or diamond) was missing. The princess ordered everyone to be searched. Fearful of being exposed, Nasuh hid. Terrified, he sincerely prayed to God, begging for forgiveness and promising never to return to such work. While he prayed, news came that the jewel had been found, and Nasuh was spared humiliation. With tearful eyes, he left the bathhouse and vowed to leave his sin...

"Where is Allah? – A Story of Faith and Test of Patience"

He was sitting aside on the edge of the road and crying. I also turned away from my path and approached him to inquire about the reason for his tears. Hazrat Ibrahim ibn Adham (RA) replied, 'It is nothing.' I insisted two or three times, and finally, he said, 'If you promise not to tell anyone about this, I will share the reason.' I assured him, and then he narrated: For thirty years, my heart has been persistently desiring hareera (a type of sweet porridge). However, with great effort and patience, I suppressed my desire and refrained from fulfilling it. Last night, while I was sitting, I dozed off. In that state, a man appeared before me holding a green bowl. Steam was rising from it, and the aroma of...

Do not let him die until he has seen the face of an immoral woman....
